How to start a Foot Impact school club
You do not need a grant to begin. You need a teacher, a lunch break, and a lesson that fits on one page.
Youth coordinators
Most clubs die of ambition. Someone wants a constitution, a blazer, and a launch with a commissioner. Start smaller. A Foot Impact club is a regular 40-minute session where students practise one health behaviour and teach it to someone else. That is the whole idea.
A starter sequence
- Find one teacher who will give you a hall and a slot that does not clash with exams.
- Pick a first theme: malaria fever response, handwashing, or nutrition. One theme.
- Run the same session twice. The second time, students lead it.
- Write to your state coordinator so you are on the map — and so you are not inventing materials that already exist.
We will send IEC sheets, a simple register, and a contact at the relevant ministry desk where we have one. We will not run the club for you. If that sounds like less than you hoped, it is also why clubs last past the term we visit.
The club is working when a student corrects a rumour in the compound without waiting for the next meeting.
Ready? Use the volunteer form and tell us your school, your LGA, and the first theme you want to try. If you already have a club under another name, we can still partner — the logo is optional, the habit is not.
